The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V has been one of the most highly anticipated games of 2014, to the point that a little hearsay is more then enough to generate buzz within the gaming community.
The moment a rumor regarding the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V has been reported it becomes the center of attention on news sites while gamer bicker over its credibility.
Most recently; Gamereactor reported that Elgiganten, a Nordic retailer, will start taking pre-orders for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V starting Friday. The news comes a week after Amazon France and Amazon Germany had the game available for pre-order. Before that; PC Gamer reported that a bug log had surfaced that allegedly shows references to an upcoming PC version of the game.
Finally there was Thiago Diniz, director of digital distribution of games at Nuveem (a Brazilian retailer), who stated that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is expected to be released on March 12.
All of these unofficial announcements was during the month of January 2014 while Rockstar Games failed to confirm or deny these rumors.
One thing is clear; gamers and the media really want an official confirmation from Rockstar Games. Are these rumors true and PC gamers should start making room or does Rockstar have no plans of releasing Grand Theft Auto V on the PC.
The case for both is very strong as the PC market is very strong while the need to do so is not a real priority. Is Rockstar making a version that should be superior to the consoles or are they preparing to finally develop Agent?
Or is Rockstar trying to build the same kind of hype as part of a marketing strategy? Do they want to build the same kind of momentem as they did back in September or do they want their own "GTA V confirmed" meme.
In the end its only fair to the PC fans to make some kind of official confirmation soon.
